Isaé Jeanne Hope
The most precious gift, our baby girl, was born this last Sunday, May 31st.
Her name, Isaé, is japanese and means « blessed by merit » in honor of the Land of the Rising Sun where she was conceived ✨
Having a new born and becoming a mom made me stay away from my social medias those last days. The world has started an amazing and important fight against white supremacy, and my whole heart is with it even though I cannot be fully active at this moment. But what I know for sure is that this baby girl will be raised knowing the fights that were going on during her birth. Babies and children are completely innocent to any type of racism or inequality, and it is our role as parents to make those new generations take a real turn. They are the future. I want her to understand that it is a privilege to have to educate yourself about racism instead of experiencing it. The foundations of love, acceptance, and equality begins with infancy.
Her third name, « Hope » was added recently because of the context she was born in. She will always be reminded why, she will know the name George Floyd and all the others terrible impacts that white supremacy has done for centuries. This has to change and she is for her dad and I, a hope for a better world where no skin color is more respected than an other 🖤
